The Downward Spiral · Part 6 of 6

When glutathione drops

Step 6: Glutathione drops

Here's the final step, and it connects back to the start.

Glutathione is often called the body's master antioxidant. When inflammation and free radicals keep demanding more antioxidants, glutathione can be drawn down. Your body makes it from building blocks that also run through the homocysteine cycle, so a stressed system can show up there too.

With less glutathione, free radicals are cleared more slowly. That feeds step 1, and the loop starts again.

In your labs

Labs that offer a clue:

Putting it together

Where in the loop are you?

Over six parts you've seen how problems in one place can feed problems in the next. That's also why guessing with supplements can fall flat. The useful question is where in the loop you are, and the answer comes from your numbers.

Two ways to go from here:

  1. On your own. Enter your labs in the lab tool and read the library pages for any markers that stand out.
  2. With me. My Guided Journey is a limited, one-to-one program where we look at your labs together, work out where your loop is likely to be stuck, and build a plan in a sensible order. Spots are limited so I can give each person real attention. If you'd like to know whether it's a fit, email me one line about what you're dealing with, or read more about the Guided Journey.
Educational information only — not medical advice. Lab testing and any supplementation decisions should be made with a qualified healthcare provider who knows your personal health history. Research findings vary by population, dose, form, and study quality.
